Summary

Unit 17 is concerned with the applications of fibrous structures (including nonowovens) in personal protection and the protection of goods. Some of the applications considered are for the protection against projectile, blast, fragment and high energy explosives. Other applications such as composite helmets, vehicular crash guards, interlinings, insulation, protective industrial workwear and firefighter suits are also considered.
